Breadwinners Academy’s mission is to equip individuals and families from low-income communities with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to achieve financial stability and independence. Through comprehensive financial literacy programs and resources, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and create a future where all community members have the tools to make informed financial decisions, build assets, and secure a brighter financial future.
Intro 2 Personal Finance
Breadwinners Academy hosted a 5-week hands-on financial literacy workshop at Notre Dame College (NDC) in the summer of 2023. This hands-on financial literacy program is an extension of our existing financial literacy curriculum. This program will prepare each student for the next two stages in life and focuses on the financial hurdles students face leaving high school and college.

Saving & budgeting is the foundation of personal finance. Building wealth is a long-term endeavor and budgeting is the centerpiece.

Personal banking can be an intimidating experience if an individual is not prepared. The importance of establishing a relationship with a credit union or bank is essential to financial success. Financial institutions secure our monetary assets and provide lending products that are needed for us to live our best life.

If you fail to plan… You are planning to fail. Going from idea, to plan, and execution requires skills that are taught in the classroom and real world.
